Octo Capital

Octo Capital is an alternative investment firm built for special situations in real assets. The firm invests across the capital structure — common equity, co-GP equity, preferred equity, and high-yield debt — and has a primary focus on residential, hospitality, alternative energy, and domestic manufacturing.

Creativity is central to how Octo invests — in the opportunities it pursues and the structures it builds. Free of traditional fund constraints, the firm can move quickly into new asset classes, invest anywhere in the capital stack, and tailor each transaction to the situation at hand.

Since 2020, Octo has invested more than $250 million of equity on behalf of its principal accounts and joint venture partners. Octo’s capital partners have included the world’s leading hedge funds, asset managers, and single-family offices. Octo was founded by Fred Bronstein, a former Elliott Management Associate Portfolio Manager.

Fred Bronstein

Founder and Managing Partner

Fred is a private equity professional with over 20 years of experience who has invested in excess of $10.0B in both the private and public markets. Fred previously was an Associate Portfolio Manager at Elliott Management Corporation, and prior to Elliott, was employed by the real estate private equity funds associated with Angelo Gordon & Co and Lehman Brothers. Fred’s transaction experience includes all real estate asset classes as well as specialized real asset investments, including alternative energy, domestic manufacturing, and data centers. Fred is a graduate of Harvard College and currently resides in Greenwich, CT.

Avery Blum

Principal

Avery is an investor with 8 years of experience who has worked with Fred to execute several of Octo's investments. Prior to joining Octo, Avery was an Associate at MSD Partners. Prior to MSD, Avery was an Analyst at Blackstone and Wells Fargo. Avery is a graduate of Columbia Business School and Cornell University and resides in
New York City.
